The walker gets lazy...

I have a new walker & he has a great ride. That's me in the bag on the bottom. I like the way he rolls....and I prefer to roll rather than walk.

The mystery is solved...

NOLA City Bark - 2 paws up!

The walker & the feeder finally got off their lazy butts and took me to the new City BARK Dog Park in City Park. It was a weekday afternoon so there weren't too many dogs out but it was still really fun to run around without a leash. The permit costs $35/year for up to 3 dogs per household. We got a permit but they were out of cards due to an overwhelming response to their grand opening. It seems they opened on Saturday and expected about 500 people to apply for permits and had more than 1000 people apply for permits by Thursday afternoon. That is great! The permit agent said that we should look for the City Bark volunteer, show our proof of permit and they would let us in. Unfortunately, the volunteer wasn't at the gate to let us in but we eventually got one of the other patrons to let us in since we didn't have a card.

I spent most of my time in the small dog area. It is great! It will be even better when the grass grows in and the trees get bigger for shade. The big dog area is much larger and seems really nice. I like that I can see all of the big dogs through the fence but don't have to deal with them. There are dog-friendly water fountains in both areas. It is nice that you don't have to go through the big dog area to get to the small dog area.

PROS:

Large areas to run & plan

Separate area small dogs

Water fountains

Poop bag dispensers

CONS:

People who bring their large dogs into the small dog area. (Note: It doesn't matter if your big dog is friendly. Some little dogs don't respond well to large dogs.)

Lack of shade (will be remedied eventually when the trees grow)

Lack of permit cards/volunteers to let permitted visitors in

Overall, it was a great experience! I just hope that I can get the walker and the feeder to take me out there again soon!

Walker & Feeder Alert!

Maybe the walker & feeder have been reading my blog and taking note. The walker has grown another pair of legs so maybe he can walk me to the park more. The feeder's belly continues to grow as she eats every two hours or so. I love watching the hams in the window at Mother's restaurant. The feeder's shirt is making me hungry...yum.

Detective Doggie is on the case!

It has been a long time since my last post. I apologize for the delay. I've been undercover here at the doghouse gathering clues in a mystery. Around October, I began to notice the feeder exhibiting strange behavior. She began to eat more which is not the characteristic I look for in a feeder. On top of that, she also began to sleep later. I would not worry about this but for the fact that the walker has been on leave a lot more and the feeder should be picking up the slack. If I get a late walk, I don't get to catch up with my friend, Oscar, because he has to go to work early. She does not take me to the P-A-R-K as much as the walker or the Pa-Park.

I believe the Great White One noticed the changes as well. She let everyone know that she noticed by marking the walker's suitcase & the feeder's couch. She was soon sent on vacation to the Boo Boo & Pa-Park's house. She came back after a week and got her own room for a while. She gets fed in her room so that Miss Pie & Big Lou don't eat her food. She seems well rested now and isn't marking anyone's stuff anymore.

The feeder is still eating a lot. I hope that she doesn't eat my food. She really should go on a diet (See Exhibit A). Those are all the clues that I have for now. Don't worry, I will get to the bottom of this!
